FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
You got questions? I've got answers.
WHICH COUNTRIES DO YOU SHIP TO?
All of them! I actually keep a pin-board in my office of places I've shipped to. Sometimes I'll post pictures of this on my Instagram.
DO YOU ACCEPT RETURNS?
As all my cables are made-to-order, unfortunately I can't generally accept returns on functional products. Ask anyway, as it'll vary per product, and some cables I may be willing to accept a return on though it may be subject to fees.
Refer to the Returns and Warranty page for more information.
WHAT WARRANTY DO YOU OFFER?
All of my products and services come with a warranty, which varies by item.
Refer to the Returns and Warranty page for more information.
WHAT’S THE MINIMUM ORDER AMOUNT?
One. Zero. Anything! Buy from me, or don't - I have no minimum order quantity for any of my products.
HOW DO YOU TEST CABLES?
Besides testing every cable for continuity with a multi-meter, I try to test cables with headphones and sources.
More details here!
WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU USE?
I offer a variety of materials; connectors, conductors, sleeves, and any other tweaks you might want to your cable. Refer to individual cable pages for conductor specifications.
WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?
My site currently accepts PayPal as the primary means of payment, but I'm happy to arrange alternative means if that doesn't suit.
WHAT CAN YOU MAKE?
Anything you want! I primarily deal with 4 and 3-core braids, but I can go higher, and can work with almost any kind of connectors. I've got examples of my work (varying from 2-6 cores currently) on Instagram.
USB? Done.
Mini-XLR? Cool.
Full-size XLR? Easy.
DMX? Yep.
If you're willing to pay for the connectors, I'm willing to make cables for them!
Of note, shielded cables are typically unsuitable to be braided - however if performance is secondary to appearance, then I can build cables to suit.
WHY CABLES?
I enjoy making them. It really is that simple. I often just sit down with some good headphones and listen to music while I make them - it's a really relaxing time! I also livestream sometimes, over on my Facebook page.
I THOUGHT YOU WERE CALLED ALAN - WHY IS YOUR SITE NLOVELL?
Well, my name is Alan Lovell - I make no secret of that fact. But back in college, I thought it would be cool as heck to make my own custom email, which required a domain. I always liked the .net TLD - thus, my primary email was made as al@nlovell.net.
It's the coolest email address ever.

HOW DO YOU TEST CABLES?
Besides testing every cable for continuity (and ensuring nothing is shorted out) with a multi-meter, I try to test cables with their matching headphones and sources. I've got a lot of gear available with unique connectors on, for exactly this purpose!
When testing that stereo markings are correct, I use a test file to determine left and right channels are correct, before playing back some actual music.
